Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 12 July 2026.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding legal agreement between you and Okpa Hunters ("we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the Okpa Hunters website, mobile web experience, APIs, and related services (the "Service"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. By creating an account, listing a spot, submitting a review, or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Sellers must operate lawfully in Nigeria, hold any required food-vending permits from their local government, and comply with NAFDAC food-safety guidance.
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must keep your password confidential and notify us immediately of unauthorised use.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, or as required by law.
3. Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- submit false, misleading, defamatory or unlawful content;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights of any person;
- upload malware, attempt to compromise the Service, or bypass security controls or rate limits;
- scrape, harvest, or automate access without our prior written consent;
- use the Service to send spam, harassment, hate speech, threats, or sexually explicit content;
- impersonate any person or falsely claim affiliation with any entity;
- list a spot at a location where you have no lawful right to trade;
- list restricted, illegal, or unsafe products.
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, referral to law enforcement, and civil liability.
4. Content You Submit ("User Content")
You retain ownership of User Content. By submitting User Content you grant Okpa Hunters a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), publish, publicly display and distribute the User Content solely to operate, promote and improve the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence.
5. Seller Terms
- You are the seller of record for any goods sold to buyers whom you meet through the Service.
- You are solely responsible for quality, hygiene, safety, packaging, and pricing of your products.
- Verified badges reflect Okpa Hunters' operational review at a point in time; they are not a warranty of quality.
- Okpa Hunters is not a party to any transaction between buyer and seller conducted off-platform.
6. Subscriptions, Payments & Refunds
Some features require a paid subscription. Current plans and prices are shown on the Billing page and include:
- Customer — ₦2,000 / month.
- Seller — ₦5,000 / month.
Payments are processed by Paystack. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle unless you cancel through the Billing page. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current period; access continues until then. Except where required by law (e.g. the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act), fees already paid are non-refundable. If we materially change fees we will give you at least 14 days' notice; you may cancel before the change takes effect.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its source code, design, brand, logos and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Okpa Hunters and its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service uses Google Maps Platform (subject to Google's Additional Terms of Serviceand Privacy Policy), Paystack for payments, and Supabase for data hosting. Your use of those services through Okpa Hunters is subject to their respective terms.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY LISTING IS ACCURATE, THAT A VENDOR IS OPERATING, THAT PRODUCTS ARE SAFE OR OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL OKPA HUNTERS, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (a) YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE; (b) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (c) UNAUTHORISED ACCESS, USE OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR (ii) NGN 20,000.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Okpa Hunters from and against any claim, liability, damage, loss and expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Service, (b) your User Content, or (c) your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. On termination, sections 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14 survive.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. Failing that, disputes shall be finally resolved by arbitration seated in Lagos under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, by a single arbitrator, in English. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
